About the Producer
Antonio Ribeiro Pereira Vinho Verde is unlike most others, mostly because it's red and costs double the price. But this wine is very different than the $10 bottles we're used to buying. First of all, Tinto Bom is Biodynamic and made with indigenous Tinta Nacional (a grape with both red skin and red flesh) that is steel-fermented with wild yeasts to achieve a light fizz. Then, it's aged in steel for several years to soften the flavors - long aging is another unusual step for VV. While many of the region's brancos (whites) are made to be unobtrusive in flavor, there is real substance and quality here. Serve it chilled and savor complex natural flavors and artisanal winemaking never before seen in Vinho Verde.
