Country: Marche, Italy
Grape variety: Lacrima
On the nose it unveils suggestions of dried rose petals, faded roses, red woodland berries, shimmering with various whispered spices, most notably pink pepper. On the palate this is a warm, full-bodied and velvety wine. The gustatory intensity derives from a six month aging period in steel vats and oak barrels. The award of DOC controlled denomination status was vital in saving this ancient vine from extinction and relaunching it to the acclaim of the most discerning drinkers.
