La Grange de Nose Mea is a humble farm and winery project from the couple Marie Percevault & Hervé Bossé, who began in 2014 and now tend, via organic farming, around six hectares of vines in the southern Côteaux du Layon. This “simply red” wine is half Cabernet Franc (destemmed, with four days’ maceration) and 50% Grolleau (also destemmed, with three weeks’ maceration) in fiberglass tanks. It’s really nicely balanced between red and dark fruit, green and dark pepper, soft tannins and acidity. Clear and polished, easy to drink, and balancing Cab Franc’s more earthen qualities with Grolleau’s fruited and fresh ones.
