Location: France, Languedoc-Rousillon, Corbières
Winemakers: Xavier & Mathieu Ledogar
Grapes: Mourvèdre, Carignan
Soil: Sand and clay soils
Winemaking: Hand harvest. Native yeast fermentation. Co-fermented and co-macerated for less than a day before pressing and a short élevage in fiberglass.
From the importer Steven Graf Wine: Mathieu and Xavier are two brothers in the fourth generation of winemakers. In the mid-90s, when the brothers took over, they began the conversion to organic and biodynamic practices. Instead of making grapes for a co-op like their forebears, they bottled under the family name and began their journey to produce the most unadulterated wines the terroir could produce. With help from some 100-year-old vines, they've gotten better and better at doing just that. They currently work 19+ hectares of land.
