Veering well off the beaten path to the tiny landlocked region of Molise, just south of Lazio, where they specialize in a rare local grape called Tintilia. This one comes from organic vines on a single hill dotted with Sorbo trees. The grapes are hand harvested and wild fermented in steel, then aged in steel on the lees for 3 years before bottling unfiltered with minimal sulfur. Medium bodied and silky with spiced red berry and sour cherry fruit and notes of wild licorice. Unique and delicious.
