Natural German red from an ancient, terraced, stone-walled vineyard. Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard.

Varietal: Lemberger, Trollinger, Regent, Schwarzriesling (aka Pinot Meunier).

A blend of indigenous grapes grown on a sprawling amphitheater of shell limestone soils, this unoaked red is juicy yet pretty structured with notes of red fruit bramble, all spice, black pepper, and earthy character meant for food pairings.

Wife and husband team of Olympia Samara and Johannes Hoffmann have committed themselves to making eclectic and interesting wines in Württemberg, Germany. With only a half-hectare of vineyards planted by Hoffmann's family in a pocket of this wine region, they have created Weingut Roterfaden with the mission of "working and producing, not having big dreams." They have been working in their own manner from the first day of operation. Biodynamic farming, reduced yields, native yeasts, old oak, no filtering, and minimal sulfur. They have been pretty stripped down but unified in their processes.
